Why most businesses fail.

The leading cause of business failure is “Owner burnout”. Business Owners, too often believe by doing more work, wearing more hats, will save them money and increase the chances of business success. In reality, it starts the “burnout clock”. Generally this clock runs out at about year 3. Even if the business is profitable, the owner is so exhausted and board that they close it or sell it at a loss anyway.
It’s critical, to systemize and automate every aspect of the business. The business needs to be set up in a way that when the owner is not on-site, the business generates the same (or more) amount of money either way.
This allows the owner to work ON the business rather then IN the business. More importantly, it allows the owner to NOT work at all if/when desired. This creates longevity in the business owner... making the business instantly more successful then a majority of others. Much of “business success” is just out-lasting the competition. Not saving more money, not making more money, but staying open for business. Staying involved. Staying interested. This is impossible to do if the owner is working primarily IN the business especially when a brick and mortar location.
Our friend Jay Cutler is not only one of the best body builders in the world. He is an incredible business man. As you can see in his video, he was sitting in his home office, where is spends most of his working ours managing numerous different business. Not just one. He can do that only when he utilizes: systems and automation to do the work for him.
Where are you failing to develop systems or leverage automation? Staff training? Challenges? Marketing?
Where does releasing control stir up fear in you? What can’t you let go of? Now imagine a day where you didn’t have to think about doing that thing because you knew it was taken care of. Feels good right? It’s time for a whole lotta that. Time to get out of the shop. I would bet your dreams extend further then what 1 business can provide. Often, people dream of a life that would require 10x the revenue that the business produces. What’s that mean? You need the time outside of the shop to go create 9 more businesses. Either copies of your first business or completely new businesses.
